Guitar for Beginners — 30-Day Path from Zero
Thirty short daily sessions that take you from never having held a guitar to playing open-chord progressions in time.
0% · completed (saved in this browser)
This path is for complete beginners on acoustic or electric guitar. You do not need to read music or know any theory. Each day takes 15 to 30 minutes, and every session builds on the one before, so try not to skip days. If a day feels too hard, repeat it before moving on. That is normal, not failure.
By day 30 you will be able to tune your guitar, play the eight core open chords, change between them in time with a metronome, strum two common rhythm patterns, read guitar tab, play the A minor pentatonic scale, and name the notes on the low E and A strings.
What you need: a guitar, a pick (medium, about 0.6-0.8 mm), the tuner and metronome on this site, and a printout of the open chords chart. Short fingernails on your fretting hand make a big difference.
