Blank Staff Paper
free-music-sheets.com
What it is
Clean, blank manuscript paper with evenly spaced five-line staves. Choose empty staves or staves with a treble clef already printed, in A4 or US Letter format.
How to use it
- Print at 100% scale ("actual size") so the staff spacing stays correct. Don't use "fit to page" if your printer adds margins.
- Use a pencil: you'll erase a lot when composing or doing exercises.
- Print a few copies and keep them in a folder next to your instrument.
Ideas
- Write down melodies you come up with before you forget them.
- Copy short passages by hand: it is one of the best ways to improve note reading.
- Practise writing key signatures, scales and chords for the key signatures and scale spelling worksheets.
- Transcribe simple melodies by ear, checking pitches with the piano notes chart.
