Grand Staff Paper (Piano)

What it is

Manuscript paper with grand staves: a treble staff and a bass staff joined by a brace, as used for piano, harp, organ and keyboard music.

How to use it

• Print at 100% scale on A4 or US Letter.
• Write the right hand in the upper staff and the left hand in the lower staff.
• Middle C (C4) can be written on a ledger line below the treble staff or above the bass staff, depending on which hand plays it.

Ideas

• Write chord progressions with melody on top and chords in the left hand.
• Notate voicings you find on the keyboard: write the C major chord in all inversions, for example.
• Copy short pieces by hand to improve reading in both clefs at once.
• Use it for harmony exercises like the triads and seventh chords worksheets.
