What it is
Empty guitar fretboard diagrams showing six strings and frets 0–12, with fret markers at 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12.
How to use it
- Print at 100% on A4 or US Letter.
- Draw dots for scale notes, circles for roots, and write note names or degrees inside.
- Use different colours for different positions or chord tones.
Ideas
- Test yourself: fill in all the natural notes from memory, then check with the guitar fretboard notes chart.
- Draw scale shapes and connect them, as in major scale positions.
- Mark all chord tones of a chord across the neck to see arpeggio shapes.
- Compare with the scale explorer to check your drawing.
