Guitar Fretboard Notes Chart
free-music-sheets.com
What it is
A chart of every note on the guitar neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), frets 0 to 12. Natural notes are highlighted, sharps and flats are shown in lighter type. From fret 12 on, everything repeats an octave higher.
How to use it
- Print it at 100% and keep it on your music stand or wall.
- Don't try to memorise it all at once. Start with the natural notes on the low E and A strings.
- Use it to check your answers when filling in a blank fretboard from memory.
Patterns to notice
- The low and high E strings have identical notes.
- Natural notes are two frets apart, except E–F and B–C (one fret).
- The fret-5 note on each string equals the next open string, except on the G string, where it is fret 4.
- Octave shapes repeat across the chart: two strings up, two frets higher.
