Treble Clef Note Reading – Level 3
Write the full name of each note, including any sharp, flat or natural, for example F#5 or Bb3. Look at the key signature at the start of each line: it applies to every note on that letter unless an accidental changes it. Check against the answer key.

Goal
Read notes the way they appear in real music: inside a key signature, with accidentals, and across a wide range including ledger lines.
How to practise
- Before each line, say the key signature aloud: "F sharp and C sharp" for D major, and so on.
- Remember that an accidental lasts until the end of the bar and applies only to that exact pitch.
- Write the octave number too (C4, F#5). It forces you to read the exact position, not just the letter.
- Do one line per day for a week rather than the whole sheet at once.
Self-check
Compare your answers with the key. Typical mistakes are forgetting the key signature, carrying an accidental into the next bar, or ignoring a natural sign. Note which type you make most often and pay special attention to it next time.
