Goal
Know every note on a 4-string bass neck and move between octaves and strings without hesitating.
How to practise
- Complete level 1 first.
- Octave shape on bass: two strings up, two frets higher (E string fret 3 = G, D string fret 5 = G).
- Same fret, one string higher = a perfect fourth higher. Five frets up on the same string = the open note of the next string.
- Do Part A one string per day; Parts B and C on later days.
Self-check
Check with the answer key. Time Part B: find every position of a note in under ten seconds.
